Cellist Amit Peled was denied boarding an Air Canada flight over the weekend, causing him to miss teaching engagements with students. The professor of cello at Peabody Institute at Johns Hopkins University was due to fly from Philadelphia to Montreal to teach 14 students and perform at the Orford Festival.<\/p>\n

Taking to Instagram, Peled states that he had full-price tickets booked both for himself and his cello. He was barred from the flight due to a clerical error in the airline\u2019s computer system, despite Peled having called the airline in advance to organise the flight.<\/p>\n

The incident resulted in Peled returning home to teach the students via Zoom, and to miss his concert engagement. He ends the video with a vow not to fly Air Canada again.<\/p>\n
